An international FMCG business based in Banbury has a requirement for a maintenance engineer, with electrical qualifications and mechanical capabilities. This permanent vacancy will be working on a continental shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights (12 hour shifts) followed by 4 days off.

Salary: £ 50,970.40 annual salary plus; 27 days holiday plus bank, private healthcare option scheme, available overtime at increased rate and other benefits

The role of Maintenance Engineer:


  • Autonomous maintenance, transfer knowledge and technical expertise in the teams to ensure equipment condition upheld

  • Perform all interventions in accordance with the autonomous maintenance methodology

  • Eliminate equipment abnormalities and actively participate in the correction of all defects

  • Corrective maintenance of machinery and production lines, relaying observations to the wider team

  • Action all breakdowns as quickly as possible and also undertake breakdown analysis

  • Responsible for monitoring the line after a breakdown to ensure an effective and efficient start of the equipment

  • Preventative maintenance plan on time and participate in preventative maintenance activities and the refurbishment of parts according to equipment availability

  • Collaborate with stores to ensure the availability of spare parts through the correct use of procedures

  • Participate in the selection and validation of new parts from local suppliers



The ideal Maintenance Engineer:


  • Previous maintenance experience, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing business such as food or drink production

  • Exposure to packing machinery and equipment such as cappers, labellers and filling machinery

  • Demonstrate a technical understanding of automation

  • Have a mechanical, electrical, pneumatics and electronics experience

  • This candidate should be a time served apprentice or NVQ qualified

  • Or hold a HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Ideally be electrically bias with mechanical understanding

  • Exposure to control and instrumentation equipment
