This is an incredible and rare opportunity to get into Li-ion Battery Cell Design. The leading UK Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Technical Centre is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support Electric Vehicle battery cell design and manufacture.
NB. You DO NOT necessarily need to come from a li-ion battery design background - although it could be extremely advantageous. An involvement in all Mechanical Design Activities; this includes product data management ownership, component and material selection. Work as part of a small team of engineers, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Lead. Work on both manufacture and assembly designs at battery cell, module and pack level. Assessment of test and simulation results i.e. Thermal CFD and Structural FEA.
The Successful Mechanical Engineer will be:
Qualified to a Degree level in Mechanical Engineering Possess 2 years experience minimum ideally within the automotive industry. Experience in design and development of complex electro mechanical or electro chemical products desirable. Significant experience with CAD - Ideally CREO but CATIA or similar is acceptable. A working knowledge of automotive quality standards TS16949, ISO9001
